Loch Duich Cruises.

Monach Isles in front of the Five sisters of Kintail

Loch Duich Cruises is a new enterprise offering a unique way to travel on Loch Alsh and Loch Duich. Based at Inverinate near Dornie our luxury vessel gives you the chance to see rare local wildlife, the famous Eilean Donan castle or just explore the stunning sea lochs of Lochalsh and Kintail.

Our boat the "Monach Isles" is licenced to take small groups of up to 6 passengers. We offer a variety of sightseeing trips around the lochs from a one hour tour to more extended trips. The boat provides a very special way of seeing the wonderful Highland scenery and is ideal for fishermen, photographers or bird and wildlife enthusiasts.

Steering the boat from the top deck

Loch Alsh is designated a Marine Special Area of Conservation due to its rich marine wildlife. We regularly watch otters fishing along the coastline and also see porpoises and dolphins travelling through the lochs. Common and grey seals are present in large numbers locally. The nearby Eilean Donan Castle is one of the most photographed icons in Scotland but the view from the sea offers a completely new perspective of this famous landmark. Nearby the pictish broch at Totaig is well worth a visit. For fishermen the boat is an ideal way of reaching remote parts of the loch for sea angling and we can supply fishing tackle if needed. A trip around the Loch on the "Monach Isles" makes an ideal activity for families with something of interest for both young and old!

Daniel's 1st birthday on board the boat

Our boat trips operate from March until October, Monday to Friday, if the weather and tides are suitable. Access to the boat is from our private jetty which can be remotely operated from the boat to extend out into the loch as the tide changes. During your cruise teas, coffees and soft drinks are served and Gaelic music may be played! The boat has fly bridge seating for two and there is also a toilet on board.
